Summary

Ditto SDK 5.1 introduces 189 improvements aimed at increasing the performance, scalability, security, and maintainability of offline-first edge applications. Benchmarks on an Android retail workload showed substantially faster local operations, including 53.6× faster clearing of local data, 43× faster deletions, and 167× faster full-collection counts, alongside lower memory use. The release expands Ditto Query Language with local collection joins, composite and array/object indexes, and an ADVISE feature that recommends indexes based on query patterns, while adding richer mutation and transformation capabilities. Security enhancements distribute signed certificate revocations across peer meshes, allowing disconnected devices to reject or disconnect revoked peers without relying on cloud access. New troubleshooting tools provide configuration snapshots, live-device query access, network and storage metrics, slow-query controls, and automatic recovery of corrupted replication metadata. An opt-in multicast synchronization beta, available for selected SDKs, is designed to reduce connection and update overhead in large single-site meshes by broadcasting updates to groups rather than maintaining every pairwise connection.
