Directus 10.7 introduces a new theming engine designed to seamlessly integrate a user's unique brand identity with the Directus data platform, enhancing the customization experience within the Data Studio. Previously, administrators could add custom CSS, but changes in the Data Studio markup posed risks to these styles. The new theming feature addresses this by ensuring that the core team manages the mapping between theming options and markup, offering stability during updates and increasing user confidence in custom theming. Currently, users can select light or dark themes, with plans to expand these options into a distributable extension type, aiming to align the Directus Data Studio more closely with individual brands. Directus 10.7 is available on npm and Docker Hub, and users are encouraged to engage with the community on Discord for any inquiries.
