DigitalOcean has launched its newest and largest data center, called ATL1, in Atlanta. The new data center is designed to deliver high-density GPU infrastructure optimized for the future of AI/ML, which will simplify cloud computing and AI for growing tech companies. With ATL1, DigitalOcean expands its footprint to 16 data centers across 10 global regions, offering customers greater performance, scalability, and flexibility in deploying products such as Premium Droplets, Spaces Object Storage, Load Balancers, Kubernetes clusters, managed databases, and Bare Metal GPUs. The new data center is built for high-density GPU deployments with flexible expansion capabilities, cutting-edge hardware, including over 300 GPUs deployed in the first data hall, and is designed to support the rapid expansion of GPU clusters. ATL1 benefits from a high-density, enterprise-grade facility optimized for AI/ML workloads, further enhancing performance, scalability, and security for customers. The launch marks a major investment into supporting the next generation of AI, machine learning, and high-performance applications.
