NFC verification is presented as a high-assurance identity-checking method because it reads data from chips in ePassports and eIDs and cryptographically validates document authenticity, offering stronger tamper detection and more complete information than OCR alone. Didit’s platform provides NFC verification through native SDKs and APIs, combining chip data, cryptographic integrity checks, certificate details, status outcomes, and warnings such as mismatches between NFC and OCR data in a detailed JSON report. Although .NET MAUI enables cross-platform native applications for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows, reliable browser-based NFC remains limited, with no Web NFC support in iOS Safari and experimental support in Android Chrome. The proposed approach is therefore to use Didit’s iOS SDK, with Android support planned, for mobile NFC scanning and pass verified data into a .NET MAUI desktop workflow through APIs or platform-specific implementations. The platform also combines NFC checks with broader identity verification, liveness and fraud-prevention capabilities, and a modular pricing model that includes free core KYC services.
