Introducing Descope Agentic Identity Hub 3.0: Governance and Control for AI Agents
Blog post from Descope
Descope announced Agentic Identity Hub 3.0, an update designed to help organizations govern, authenticate, and control AI agents as their use expands across enterprise systems. Building on earlier support for short-lived credentials, agent identities, MCP servers, and cross-application access, the platform introduces an Enterprise-tier Agent Governance Suite that provides a centralized directory and catalog for requesting, approving, documenting, assigning ownership of, and applying least-privilege access to agents and their connected resources. The release also supports runtime policy enforcement through gateways, MCP servers, APIs, and other policy enforcement points, with an enhanced policy engine offering explicit deny rules, ordered evaluation, contextual authorization, and layered organization-wide guardrails. Identity improvements include issuing and validating ID-JAG Agent SSO assertions for cross-app access, self-service configuration for tenant administrators, and client authentication options such as SPIFFE workload identities, private_key_jwt, mTLS, certificate-bound tokens, and DPoP. Descope positions these capabilities as a response to anticipated growth in enterprise agent adoption and the need for stronger visibility, accountability, and access controls.
