From Recordings to Records: NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe on DeepInfra
Blog post from Deepinfra
DeepInfra has added NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe, an open-weight offline speech model, to its OpenAI-compatible speech-to-text API on the day of its release. The model combines multilingual transcription, English translation, contextual prompting, timestamps, code-switching, rich formatting, audio understanding, and planned speaker attribution in a single 30B-A4B Mixture-of-Experts architecture, reducing the need to combine separate ASR, diarization, translation, and language models. It supports recordings up to 60 minutes, transcription across 40 languages, translation between English and 31 languages, and contextual terms for improved recognition of specialized names. NVIDIA and Cekura benchmark results cited by DeepInfra indicate competitive word-error rates against proprietary services, while its open weights allow inspection, fine-tuning, and self-hosting. Intended uses include contact-center analysis, meeting notes, media captioning, and searchable audio archives, with word, segment, SRT, and VTT timestamp outputs available. DeepInfra prices the service at $0.002 per audio minute, states that requests have zero data retention, and provides API access for transcription and English translation.
