Introducing Vibe Coder: Our Take on Voice-Driven Coding
Blog post from Deepgram
Deepgram has released Vibe Coder, an open-source VS Code extension that explores voice-driven “vibe coding” in AI-powered IDEs such as Cursor and Windsurf. Built rapidly as an experimental prototype, the extension lets developers use speech to direct AI coding workflows and turn ideas into working software more quickly. Deepgram views the release as an early demonstration of a potentially significant shift in software development rather than a finished product or long-term commitment, and says it may evolve through community participation or inform future projects. The company developed Vibe Coder using vibe coding itself, has tested the approach internally for months, and invites users to download the extension through the VS Code Marketplace or GitHub, watch its demo, and provide feedback.
