Automate Audio Transcription with Zapier + Deepgram
Blog post from Deepgram
Zapier can automate audio transcription by monitoring a Google Drive folder, sending newly added audio files to Deepgram through Webhooks, and saving the resulting transcript as a text file in another Google Drive folder. The workflow uses Google Drive as the trigger, an HTTP POST request containing the file’s Web Content Link and a Deepgram API authorization header, and a final Google Drive action that creates a file from Deepgram’s transcript output. Potential applications include processing voicemails, meeting recordings, support calls, and podcast episodes, though users must account for Zapier’s 30-second timeout for webhook events, use appropriately sized audio files, maintain a consistent file type, and note that files created or modified more than four days before being added may not trigger the automation.
