What's New in DBOS - May 2026
Blog post from DBOS
DBOS’s latest product updates emphasize workflow operations tooling, performance, and ecosystem expansion across its Transact libraries and Conductor platform. Scalability improvements to its PostgreSQL-backed durable workflow system reportedly enable up to 144,000 sustained writes per second or 43,000 workflows per second through in-memory local concurrency tracking, reduced transaction isolation where appropriate, and new database indexes. Queue configurations can now be stored and changed dynamically in the database without restarting workers, including settings for concurrency, rate limiting, priorities, partitions, and polling intervals. Go v0.14 adds delayed task execution and dynamic, database-stored workflow scheduling, while Java v0.8 introduces similar scheduling features, runtime-manageable application versioning, improved developer ergonomics, and a Spring Boot integration ahead of its planned v1.0 release. DBOS Conductor now provides a timeline visualization for workflow steps to help diagnose execution patterns, failures, bottlenecks, parallelism, and deeply nested or long-running workflows. The company also announced a Cockroach Labs partnership, positioning CockroachDB and DBOS as a combination for globally scalable, fault-tolerant, auditable, exactly-once AI workflows.
