Summary

We are excited to announce the introduction of IDE Restriction, a new feature that gives administrators greater control over their Daytona installation by allowing them to specify which Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) can be used to open workspaces. This enhancement enables organizations to ensure consistency, maintain security standards, and streamline their development processes across their entire team. With this new feature, Enterprise admins can restrict access to unauthorized IDEs for enhanced security and consistency, allow individual developers to define their preferred IDE for each Workspace, and specify which IDEs are permitted for use within the organization. Daytona Enterprise supports a broad spectrum of popular integrated development environments, including VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, PhpStorm, WebStorm, PyCharm Professional, RubyMine, CLion, GoLand, Rider, and more. The feature provides centralized management, easy management, user customization, and key benefits such as consistency, security, compliance, standardization, and increased developer velocity. To manage supported IDEs, admins can access the Administrator Dashboard in Daytona Enterprise, navigate to the "Enabled IDEs" section in Settings, check boxes next to the IDEs they want to support, and use cases include regulatory compliance, license management, and standardized workflows.
