Daytona runs the code, Notte runs the browser
Blog post from Daytona
Daytona and Notte offer complementary browser setups for AI agents: Daytona can run Chromium directly inside a sandbox for simple localhost testing and pages without persistent logins or bot defenses, while Notte provides remote browser sessions suited to external websites that require realistic fingerprints, residential proxies, captcha handling, persistent profiles, and debugging tools. An in-sandbox browser is easy to use and accesses the agent’s app directly, but shares sandbox memory, with lightweight pages fitting within 1 GiB and more demanding news or shopping pages often requiring 2 GiB. Notte browsers keep their own memory footprint, can be controlled through the Notte CLI or Playwright over CDP, and access sandbox-hosted applications through signed preview URLs. Notte’s Anything API uses Daytona sandboxes to retain code and rapidly resume work between conversations, while opening Notte browser sessions to inspect third-party websites, capture network traffic, identify underlying APIs, and build reusable client functions. A sample workflow demonstrates testing a sandbox-hosted to-do application through a remote Notte browser, combining browser automation, screenshots, live viewing, and agent-style command execution.
