In August 2025, the AI Engine: Hackathon Summer Hack took place in East London, attracting over 150 participants including engineers, founders, researchers, and AI enthusiasts from across Europe. Sponsored by Daytona, the event challenged teams to build innovative AI solutions, offering prizes such as £5,000 in cash, exclusive bounties, and significant credits, including $60,000 from Daytona to further develop winning ideas. Daytona played a crucial role by providing secure, elastic infrastructure, with team members Ivan Dagelic and Marijan Cipcic actively engaging with participants. The hackathon resulted in 47 submitted projects, including notable winners like Team Clueless, who developed an AI-powered assistant for web apps, and Team Mosaic, who created a multi-agent system for decision support. The event highlighted the importance of hackathons for Daytona, as they offer a platform to test infrastructure in real-world scenarios and support the development of future AI tools.
