Introducing real-time monitoring for Pusher

Pusher, a hosted platform for building real-time features in apps, has been integrated with Datadog, allowing developers to monitor their real-time connections and messages. Over 150,000 developers use Pusher to build various features like real-time chat, live UI updates, and event broadcasts. The integration sends app engagement metrics to Datadog, enabling unique dashboard views, alerts, and monitoring of infrastructure alongside other parts of the application. Pusher provides 19 metrics to Datadog, including connection rates, message rates, and message sizes, which are aggregated every 5 seconds and begin populating within a few minutes of setting up the integration. The metrics can be broken down by connection type, security, message type, and size statistics, providing insights into Pusher traffic and correlating with other services in the stack.
