Sean Clayton, a developer at a company, joined the team as the SME for CI pipelines and was tasked with improving their existing pipeline. The previous YAML-based pipeline was complex, making it difficult to maintain and debug. Sean attended a talk by the Dagger team and realized that Dagger provided a modern and maintainable approach. He migrated the pipeline to Dagger's Python SDK, simplifying and making it more consistent. With Dagger, developers can now build and test locally consistently, receiving almost instantaneous feedback on their builds. The pipeline is encoded in Python, reducing complexity and increasing efficiency and confidence levels. Sean plans to move more internal customers over to the new pipeline and explore future improvements such as building platform-independent images and integrating front-end testing requirements with Python pipeline code.
