Hooks for security and platform teams
Blog post from Cursor
Cursor has introduced hooks to its agent loop, enabling organizations to observe, control, and modify agent behavior using custom scripts, which can be triggered before or after specific stages of the loop. These hooks have been utilized by customers to integrate with security tools, observability platforms, secrets managers, and compliance systems. To enhance ease of integration, Cursor has partnered with various vendors specializing in MCP governance, code security, dependency scanning, agent safety, and secrets management. Partners like MintMCP and Oasis Security focus on governance and visibility, while Corridor and Semgrep address code security by providing real-time feedback and scanning for vulnerabilities. Endor Labs targets dependency security by scanning for malicious packages, and Snyk enhances agent safety by detecting issues in real-time. Meanwhile, 1Password facilitates secure access to secrets through hooks, ensuring proper environment configurations before executing commands.
