Cube has joined forces with Snowflake as a launch partner in the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI) initiative, which seeks to develop an open-source, vendor-neutral specification for exchanging semantic models. This effort aims to address the current challenges organizations face when running analytics and AI across various platforms, by reducing inconsistencies in data interpretation and improving interoperability. The OSI initiative plans to create a shared specification for semantic metadata and open-source code modules to translate semantic models across different systems. Cube's involvement includes contributing to the OSI specification, developing adapters for interoperability, and ensuring AI applications can accurately utilize semantic models, ultimately providing customers with flexibility and efficiency in their AI and business intelligence operations. As the initiative progresses, Cube will release resources and guidance to facilitate adoption, underscoring the value of standardized semantics for the data and AI community.
