We've transitioned to a hybrid-remote approach to work, blending the benefits of both worlds for our team and company. The majority of workers surveyed prefer remote work arrangements, with 97.6% wanting to continue working remotely at least some of the time. Remote work offers flexible schedules, increased productivity, and employee retention, but also presents challenges such as difficulties with communication and collaboration. Our company culture was built around face-to-face interactions, which made transitioning to remote work difficult, especially as we expanded beyond an engineering organization. However, after adapting our processes and tools, we've seen improvements in efficiency, visibility of communication, and team cohesion. A hybrid approach allows us to have a physical office, with team members coming in one to two days a week, while still working remotely the rest of the time. This balance has brought a sense of community and energy to our workplace, and we encourage other companies to consider their own approach to remote work models.
