The company Courier hosted its first internal hackathon called "Dispatch" which provided opportunities for cross-functional teams to collaborate and cultivate creativity, with a focus on maximizing face-to-face interaction among team members. The event allowed teams to create projects that enriched or enhanced the Courier experience over a 24-hour period, with presentations evaluated by a panel of judges. Despite some challenges due to early Covid-19 concerns, the event was deemed successful, with the winning team receiving bragging rights and being added to the Dispatch Hackathon Trophy. The guidelines for the event were intentionally vague to allow for maximum creativity flexibility, but future events may benefit from setting clear judging benchmarks to balance scoring across different functions.
