Twilio Notify End of Life: How to Migrate Safely
Blog post from Courier
Twilio Notify, a multi-channel orchestration API, is scheduled for end-of-life on January 31, 2027, prompting developers to plan migrations to alternative platforms. Notify, which ceased accepting new customers in October 2022, is now in maintenance mode, lacking updates or new features. To facilitate a smooth transition, developers are encouraged to migrate to Courier, a platform offering all of Notify’s capabilities plus enhanced flexibility and visibility, without altering existing Twilio setups. Courier supports integration with Twilio, WhatsApp, SendGrid, and Segment, enabling seamless notification delivery through a single API. The migration process from Notify to Courier is outlined in four steps: connecting existing providers, recreating notifications, migrating use cases incrementally, and completing the cutover while monitoring system performance. With the Notify service set to terminate, developers are advised to initiate migration efforts early to mitigate risks and ensure uninterrupted notification functionality.
