Couchbase Capella™, a Database-as-a-Service, aims to deliver the same flexible and enterprise-class database technology in the cloud as its self-managed Couchbase Server, with the added advantage of automating tasks typically handled by customers. The service has been enhanced in areas like performance, scalability, security, and manageability, and now features a new Storage Auto-Expansion capability that automatically increases disk size by 50% when usage exceeds 75%, preventing operational issues related to full disks. This feature is enabled by default for new databases or service groups and is available for AWS and GCP customers, with plans to extend to Azure users. Azure customers currently benefit from proactive alerts for disk usage, which guide them to add storage easily if necessary.
