Enterprises are increasingly adopting GCP due to its unique features, such as running resources across multiple worldwide regions on a single private network by default, which eliminates the need for VPN connections and reduces global traffic exposure to the public Internet. As a result, more prospects and Couchbase customers are exploring and using GCP, with various documentation available to assist in getting started. To ensure high availability, Couchbase recommends employing Server Group Awareness and Cross Data Center (XDCR) capabilities, which provide enhanced redundancy and protection against data center failure. By following the outlined steps, users can implement Server Group Awareness on a GCE cluster created via the GCP Marketplace, separating services across nodes and assigning them to separate zones for improved fault tolerance.
