We made AI on Convex way simpler

Convex’s AI Gateway enables developers to make LLM calls directly from Convex actions through an OpenRouter-backed service without separately creating provider accounts or managing API keys for services such as OpenAI or Anthropic. Used with the AI SDK, OpenAI-compatible clients, or Convex’s Agent component, it supports text generation, embeddings, image generation, decision or classification models, and potentially voice and video features, although some capabilities remain in alpha. The service centralizes billing through Convex at OpenRouter-equivalent rates and includes dashboard reporting by project, model, and function, along with daily or monthly usage limits. AI Gateway is available on paid Convex teams, including the pay-as-you-go Starter tier, but users should note that reaching a configured disable threshold shuts down the entire deployment rather than only AI Gateway access.
