We raised $9M to give agents the internet
Blog post from Context.dev
Context.dev, formerly Brand.dev, has raised a $9 million seed round led by General Catalyst and is offering 50,000 free credits to new sign-ups within 24 hours. Founder Yahia Bakour says the company was created to make web-derived business and brand data accessible through a self-service API, avoiding costly enterprise contracts and the maintenance burden of custom scraping systems. Initially focused on retrieving logos, colors, and fonts, the platform expanded into capabilities such as product extraction, company research, page-to-Markdown conversion, and domain crawling as customers increasingly sought ways for AI agents to access reliable web context. Context.dev now supports data on over 20 million companies, more than 3,000 integrations, AI-agent applications including Similarweb’s, and specialized databases, while emphasizing stable APIs with no breaking changes. The funding will support its mission of enabling developers and AI agents to access and use the internet’s information without requiring dedicated scraping teams or sales processes.
