Introducing web search monitors
Blog post from Context.dev
Context.dev has introduced web search monitors, a feature that continuously searches the web for specified topics and sends alerts when genuinely new, relevant developments appear. Users can define a query, describe the types of updates they want, choose a schedule as frequent as every 10 minutes, and track subjects such as AI releases, competitor announcements, funding rounds, security vulnerabilities, regulations, research papers, company mentions, hiring signals, and product availability. By default, semantic detection filters out duplicate reporting, outdated content, evergreen pages, and irrelevant results, while an exact-detection option delivers every new result. Monitors support search operators, retain run histories and evidence URLs, and can serve as notification feeds or data sources for agents and pipelines. They can be created and managed through the Context MCP server in compatible AI clients or through the API, with webhook integrations including formatted Slack alerts. Each monitoring run costs two credits, monitor management is free, and the feature is available on all plans, including the free tier.
