Summary

Context.dev has introduced Answers, an API endpoint that converts web research questions into structured JSON responses with contributing source URLs, allowing developers to add research capabilities to agents, internal tools, support assistants, and customer-facing products. Developers submit a task, optionally specify a desired response shape through a json_format example, and select either Fast mode for focused factual lookups or Ultra mode for deeper, multi-source research, with different time budgets and credit costs. Responses include requested data in json_content, source links in a sources array, and null values for unknown information, which applications should distinguish from confirmed zero or false values. The API supports configurable deadlines and optional partial results, marked with partial: true, while failures that produce no usable answer are not charged. Answers is intended for question-driven research where relevant sources must be discovered, whereas Context.dev’s Extract product is designed for structured extraction from known URLs with controlled crawl scope; both can be combined in a workflow.
