Broadening Contentful’s global footprint with EU data residency

Contentful has introduced a new option to store customer content, backups, and user profiles in the European region, specifically designed to meet the growing need of its customers to store data within the EU due to changing data requirements. This advancement solidifies Contentful's dedication to ensuring the highest level of compliance, particularly for organizations operating in tightly regulated markets. The new feature provides a secure infrastructure with two distinct regions: AWS Dublin, Ireland, as the primary region and AWS Frankfurt, Germany, as the secondary backup region. Existing customers must create a brand new organization in the European region, while new customers can start directly in the EU residency. The feature aims to provide the correct separation of regions, safeguarding against any inadvertent access by a U.S.-based user to the EU organization.
