Cohere and Aleph Alpha sign agreement to become the first transatlantic sovereign AI solution

Cohere and Aleph Alpha are combining to build a transatlantic AI company designed to operate under the legal, regulatory, data-protection, and technology-handling requirements of both jurisdictions. The organization says its structure will include oversight and accountability safeguards intended to provide governments and enterprises with advanced AI while retaining control over their technology. Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez said the partnership will strengthen talent, infrastructure, and institutional trust to meet demand for AI that is both competitive and governable. The company will also expand its work with Schwarz Group companies to provide sovereign AI through the STACKIT cloud platform, which Schwarz Digits CEO Christian Müller described as a foundation for European and Canadian digital sovereignty, high performance, and data security.
