CodeRabbit, an AI-driven code review application, has experienced rapid growth since its launch, with over 1300 GitHub organizations using it and reviewing more than 2000 pull requests per day. However, the service encountered challenges due to OpenAI's stringent rate limits, particularly for the newer gpt-4 model, which imposed fine-grained rate limits on requests per minute and tokens per minute. To mitigate these challenges, CodeRabbit leveraged the FluxNinja Aperture load management platform to ensure a reliable experience as it continues to grow its user base. Aperture provided advanced rate-limiting, request prioritization, and quota management features that enabled CodeRabbit to manage OpenAI's rate limits effectively. By fine-tuning these components, CodeRabbit was able to maintain optimal user experience while ensuring compliance with OpenAI's enforced limits.
