Secure Agentic AI, Now Production-Ready: Coder's New AI Governance Add-On - Blog
Blog post from Coder
Coder has announced the general availability of its AI Governance Add-On, which includes AI Bridge and Agent Boundaries, designed to integrate AI coding agents into enterprise workflows securely and efficiently. These tools, now production-ready under new names as AI Gateway and Agent Firewall, provide architectural, auditable, and invisible governance for AI agents, crucial as these agents gain more autonomous capabilities. AI Bridge acts as a centralized gateway for managing AI sessions and enforcing policies, offering enhanced client compatibility, expanded provider support, and improved observability. Meanwhile, Agent Boundaries enforce runtime controls, treating AI agents as untrusted actors to mitigate risks such as data exfiltration and unintended actions. The Add-On aims to help platform and security teams transition AI agents from individual experiments to scalable, shared capabilities without disrupting developer workflows, offering robust auditing and control features. Additionally, Coder 2.30 introduces a performance improvement that speeds up workspace startups for Terraform templates and includes changes to how modules are managed, requiring new template versions for updates. The company also invites the community to engage through various events, including a webinar and hands-on workshop, to explore the governance of AI agents at scale.
