SIGMOD & DaMoN 2024: Cockroach Labs Engineers Present “The Price of Privacy”

Cockroach Labs engineers have made a significant contribution to the academic community with their new paper, "The Price of Privacy: A Performance Study of Confidential Virtual Machines for Database Systems", which explores tradeoffs and optimizations when running CockroachDB in a confidential computing environment. The paper was authored by Lina Qiu and co-authored by several experienced Cockroach Labs engineers, including Rebecca Taft and Alex Shraer. This new paper has been accepted to the 20th Anniversary DaMoN workshop, where it will be presented on June 10th in Santiago, Chile.
