Summary

Cloudflare has introduced Zone Versioning for its enterprise customers, allowing them to safely manage zone configuration by versioning changes and choosing when to deploy those changes. The new feature helps solve two main problems faced by customers - testing changes safely and quickly reverting negative changes. With Zone Versioning, customers can create independent sets of zone configuration (versions) that won't affect other versions. They can also map segments of their zone's traffic to specific versions of configuration through environments, which are based on various parameters like hostname, client IP, location or cookie. This enables a seamless rollout and rollback process for configuration changes, benefiting both testing and real-time adjustment needs. Enterprise customers can start using Zone Versioning today for their zones on the Cloudflare dashboard.
