WAF for everyone: protecting the web from high severity vulnerabilities

Cloudflare has announced that it will provide a Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF) Managed Ruleset to all its plans for free. This move is aimed at helping keep the internet safe, especially for small application owners and teams who may not have the time to keep up with fast-moving security patches. The ruleset provides mitigation rules for high profile vulnerabilities such as Shellshock and Log4J among others. The Free Cloudflare Managed Ruleset is automatically deployed on any new Cloudflare zone and can be configured further by overriding all rules, specific rules or disabling the entire ruleset.
