Argo Smart Routing for UDP: speeding up gaming, real-time communications and more

Cloudflare has announced the introduction of traffic acceleration to customer's UDP traffic, which can improve latency for UDP-based applications like video games, voice calls, and video meetings by up to 17%. The company is extending its Argo Smart Routing technology used in HTTP and TCP traffic to UDP. This will help reduce latency, packet loss, and jitter in gaming, live audio/video applications, and real-time communications. In testing from Tokyo to Iowa, round-trip-time was reduced by up to 17.3% on average with the feature enabled.
