Announcing D1: our first SQL database

Cloudflare has announced D1, its first SQL database designed specifically for Cloudflare Workers. Built on SQLite, the most ubiquitous database in the world, D1 is a serverless database that allows developers to create full-stack applications quickly and easily. The developer experience with D1 includes creating databases, inserting or uploading data, and managing databases using simple commands. D1 will be free of egress charges and priced based on storage plus database operations performed. Key features include read replication, batching, embedded compute, backups and redundancy, and importing and exporting data. The beta access for D1 is expected to start as early as June 2022.
