The United States Department of Commerce has announced that all 50 states and eligible territories have signed on to the "Internet for All" initiative, which aims to close the Digital Divide through new broadband deployment and digital equity programs. Funded by $65 billion in Congress's Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the initiative includes various measures such as funding for broadband deployment, subsidy for low-income families, digital equity improvement, connectivity on tribal lands, and "middle-mile" capacity establishment. While significant work remains to ensure all Americans have access to affordable high-speed internet, this government investment in broadband infrastructure is a positive step towards building a better Internet experience.
