DNSChanger Update: Nearly 4% of Infections Already Detected
Blog post from Cloudflare
On May 20, 2012, Matthew Prince provided an update on the collaboration between CloudFlare, OpenDNS, and the DCWG to combat DNSChanger malware. In one week, over 11,000 websites utilized the Visitor DNS Changer Detector App through CloudFlare, resulting in more than 56 million page views. Out of these visitors, approximately 4% have been notified and cleaned up their infection. Despite hundreds of thousands of computers still being infected, this initiative has made a significant impact on raising awareness and helping users remove the virus.
