“Much more than just writing.” How I got started as a content designer

Content design is a growing discipline that focuses on improving user experiences through effective text. At Cloudflare, Alice Bracchi has been working as a content designer since July 2020, initially as a technical writer for Zero Trust products. She transitioned to UI content by defining the product's voice and tone, creating guidelines based on their design system, and developing heuristics to evaluate content quality. To better understand user experiences, Alice joined front-end team stand-ups and built relationships with product designers. As a result, they have improved various aspects of the Zero Trust dashboard, including empty states, error messages, and onboarding experience. Currently, Cloudflare is building a content design team to scale these efforts across all products.
