Summary

Cloudflare has redesigned its Registrar experience to simplify domain discovery and purchasing while maintaining at-cost pricing and avoiding unnecessary upsells. Its new browser search covers more than 420 domain extensions, displays exact search terms across all supported extensions, includes registered and available domains, and offers real-time sorting, filtering, transparent registration and renewal prices, and selected first-year discounts. Cloudflare has also expanded its Registrar API with a sandbox, extension details, and programmatic transfers, making these features accessible through Cloudflare MCP and the cf CLI for AI agents and developers. The search system combines prepared registry datasets, DNS data, cached results, and live registry queries to balance speed, accuracy, and upstream request limits, progressively updating individual results as stronger availability evidence becomes available. Built using Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, Workers KV, and WebSockets, the platform coordinates large numbers of extension checks efficiently while delivering dynamic results in the browser.
