Serving the most critical missions- Cloudflare for Government achieves FedRAMP Class D (High) Certified status

Cloudflare announced that its Cloudflare for Government offering has received FedRAMP High authorization, sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, enabling it to serve U.S. agencies handling highly sensitive unclassified information related to areas such as law enforcement, emergency services, financial systems, and national security. FedRAMP provides standardized federal security assessment, authorization, and continuous-monitoring requirements, and the High level represents a substantial step beyond Cloudflare’s 2022 Moderate authorization because failures could have catastrophic consequences. Rather than operating a separate government-only cloud, Cloudflare says its government service uses its existing global network and software stack while relying on its Data Localization Suite to ensure FedRAMP High traffic processing and storage remain within U.S. data centers. The company says this approach gives government customers access to current Zero Trust, DDoS protection, performance, and developer capabilities without waiting for isolated government-platform releases. Cloudflare also plans to use the systems developed for FedRAMP High as the basis for pursuing Department of Defense Impact Level 4 authorization for controlled unclassified data.
