Partnering to make full-stack fast: deploy PlanetScale databases directly from Workers

Cloudflare has partnered with PlanetScale to enable direct connections between Cloudflare Workers and PlanetScale databases, specifically Postgres and MySQL, allowing developers to build full-stack applications with enhanced performance and reliability. The integration leverages Hyperdrive, a distributed connection pooler and query caching infrastructure, to ensure optimal access speed and reduced latency by maintaining warm connections and caching frequently used queries. This collaboration simplifies the process of linking Cloudflare and PlanetScale accounts, eliminating the need for manual credential management, and offering secure, one-click password rotation. The setup facilitates seamless database connectivity across different Workers applications or environments, ensuring that developers can easily deploy globally distributed applications with efficient database interactions.
