Workers Durable Objects Beta: A New Approach to Stateful Serverless
Blog post from Cloudflare
Cloudflare has introduced Durable Objects, a new technology designed to make it possible for applications to run entirely at the edge of the network with no centralized "origin" server. This feature provides a truly serverless approach to storage and state, offering consistent, low-latency, distributed storage while eliminating the need for external services that reintroduce operational concerns. Durable Objects are designed to be used in conjunction with Cloudflare Workers, which allows developers to run code at the edge of the network, improving performance and reducing costs compared to running code in a single datacenter. The closed beta of Durable Objects is currently underway, with interested users encouraged to request an invite.
