Cloudflare has launched a new initiative, Cloudflare for Students, which offers 12 months of free access to its developer platform for U.S. students aged 18 and over with a verified .edu email. This initiative aims to eliminate financial barriers for students who need production-grade tools and computational resources for building applications and projects. The offering includes increased usage allotments for several Cloudflare tools, such as Workers, Pages Functions, and Durable Objects, among others, compared to the standard free plan. After the 12-month period, students can choose to subscribe to the paid plan or revert to the free plan without incurring charges. Additionally, students gain access to a dedicated developer community on Discord. The initiative is currently available only in the United States, but Cloudflare plans to expand it to other countries in the future.
