Announcing Cloudflare Ambassadors, Community Engineers, and another $1M in open-source funding

Cloudflare has introduced an expanded community program to recognize and support people who help others build with its platform, contribute to open-source software, and strengthen developer communities. The program includes Cloudflare Ambassadors, who may organize events, lead student groups, create educational content, and receive resources such as credits, marketing materials, technical support, and recognition in Cloudflare’s online spaces; applications for the 2026–27 cohort are open through September 6, with selections announced by October 5. A second track, Cloudflare Community Engineers, will provide grants from an additional $1 million fund over two years for contributors to open-source projects related to Cloudflare’s ecosystem, initially including projects such as Astro, Agents SDK, EmDash, Hono, and Vinext, with applications opening later. Cloudflare is also forming a Discord committee involving ambassadors and staff to connect users with experts, facilitate community discussions, and improve the server’s usability, while using automation to reduce spam and malicious content.
