Summary

NVIDIA’s Nemotron 3.5 Lightning is an open, customizable mixture-of-experts model designed for high-throughput, always-on agent workloads and is available free through Cline. With 30 billion total parameters but only 3 billion active during generation, it is distilled from Nemotron 3 Ultra, supports context windows of up to one million tokens, and aims to accelerate the repeated read, edit, test, and retry calls common in agentic coding tasks. NVIDIA reports preliminary scores of 86.2 on PinchBench, 54.3 on SWE-Bench Verified, and 73 on AA-Omniscience non-hallucination, alongside throughput of up to four times that of comparable open models. Users can select the model through Cline’s Usage-Billing provider settings, while organizations can further post-train and deploy it locally, at the edge, in data centers, or in the cloud.
