Blog post from Cline
OpenAI has introduced GPT-5.2, a model now available on Cline, which shows marked improvements in tool calling, long-context reasoning, and vision, scoring 80% on SWE-bench Verified and 55.6% on SWE-Bench Pro. Users can enable the "thinking" feature in Cline to leverage GPT-5.2 for handling complex, multi-step workflows with fewer breakdowns. Alongside, Mistral AI has unveiled Devstral 2, a cost-efficient model scoring 72.2% on SWE-bench Verified, and free during its launch. Improvements in Cline include a faster model picker, better ergonomic design, and enhanced settings for adjusting the thinking budget and adding providers. Additionally, the gpt-5.1-codex models now support OpenAI's Responses API, facilitating smoother multi-step workflows by preserving conversation state server-side. Other updates include the introduction of Amazon Nova 2 Lite, additions to the native tool calling allow list, UI enhancements, and various fixes for improved system responsiveness and functionality.
