Cline Desktop: An open-source app for open-weight models

Cline Desktop is an early open-source Mac and Windows beta application that extends Cline’s agent framework beyond its VS Code extension and CLI, which the company says are used by more than 11 million developers. It provides a dedicated workspace for managing parallel agent sessions, scheduled recurring tasks, web search, voice input, and plugins, enabling work ranging from software development to document reviews, research, reporting, and planning. Users can select from more than 300 models through Cline or connect local and third-party models via API keys, use separate models for planning and execution, and import conversations from agents such as Claude Code and Codex to continue work with open-weight models. Its Marketplace supports plugins, MCP servers, and skills, while its Schedule feature creates cron-based automations for recurring activities such as code reviews, vulnerability scans, repository checks, and documentation updates.
