Native USDC Now Available on ZKsync

Circle Internet Financial announced that native USDC (USD Coin) is now available on zkSync, a layer 2 rollup designed to enhance Ethereum's scalability with zero-knowledge technology. This integration allows developers and users to access USDC on zkSync without the need for bridging, offering benefits such as native account abstraction, low-cost transactions, and enhanced security through cryptographic proofs. zkSync aims to boost Ethereum's throughput while maintaining its core values of decentralization and self-sovereignty. With over 180 decentralized applications and 5.7 million active wallet addresses, zkSync provides a robust ecosystem for businesses and developers interested in decentralized finance (DeFi) and mainstream applications. Native USDC, issued directly by Circle and redeemable 1:1 for US dollars, differs from the bridged version, USDC.e, which is not issued by Circle. This development opens up various use cases, including global payments, trading, and lending, with Circle providing on/off-ramps for converting fiat to USDC on zkSync.
