What you need to know: Native USDC on Polygon PoS

Circle Internet Financial announced the launch of native USDC on the Polygon PoS network, set for October 10, 2023, marking a shift from the Ethereum-bridged USDC (USDC.e) to a fully native solution. This transition will phase out support for bridged USDC deposits and withdrawals via Circle Account and its APIs by November 10, 2023. Native USDC is expected to enhance liquidity, simplify API integrations, and facilitate faster cross-chain transfers through the future implementation of the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP). The initiative aims to improve the user experience and promote economic inclusivity within the Polygon PoS ecosystem, while ecosystem developers are encouraged to facilitate a seamless migration from USDC.e to native USDC.
