USDCx on Canton now available via Circle xReserve
Blog post from Circle
Circle Internet Financial has announced the integration of USDCx, a USDC-backed stablecoin, on the Canton blockchain via Circle xReserve, enhancing secure interoperability with USDC across supported blockchains. Canton, a Layer 1 blockchain designed for financial markets, supports privacy-preserving, interoperable smart contracts for tokenizing real-world assets and facilitating atomic settlements and institutional payments. USDCx is minted on Canton when USDC is deposited into xReserve on Ethereum, enabling crosschain liquidity without third-party bridges. This integration allows for new onchain applications such as instant atomic settlement of tokenized assets, privacy-preserving payments, and interoperable onchain cash for multi-party workflows. With initial adoption by notable participants, USDCx on Canton promises to improve capital efficiency and reduce counterparty risk in financial transactions.
