USDC Now Available on Celo

Circle Internet Financial has announced that its USD Coin (USDC) is now available on the Celo blockchain, facilitating access for developers and users without the need for bridging. Celo, known for its mobile-first, EVM-compatible blockchain, offers fast and low-cost global payment solutions with over 1,000 projects in more than 150 countries. The integration of USDC, a stablecoin issued by Circle, into Celo supports various use cases such as remittances, savings, lending, and peer-to-peer payments, aligning with Celo's mission to promote economic prosperity worldwide. Circle Mint and its APIs enable exchanges, digital wallets, and developers to leverage USDC for low-cost, near-instant payments and other financial activities. Additionally, there is a proposal under discussion to allow the payment of Celo network gas fees using USDC, which could further enhance the user experience.
